Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 2026. This statement applies to training.simplifiedsupport.software and related Simplified Support training pages operated by Simplified Support Ltd.
Our commitment
Simplified Support Ltd is committed to making our training website as accessible as possible to everyone, including disabled people, parents and carers, and the education and SEND professionals we serve. We recognise that accessible training content is essential, not optional, and we continually work to improve the experience for all visitors.
We have regard for the public-sector equality duty spirit of the Equality Act 2010 and aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at AA level as our baseline standard. This statement explains how far we have got, what is still in progress, and how to reach us if anything is not usable for you.
What we aim for
- Text that can be resized up to 200% in mainstream browsers without content being cut off or overlapping.
- A logical heading order and meaningful page titles so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
- Sufficient colour contrast between text and background, and information not conveyed by colour alone.
- Visible focus indicators so keyboard users can see where they are on the page.
- Alternative text for images that add meaning, and empty alt text for decorative images so they are skipped by assistive technology.
- Forms with labels, clear error messages, and instructions that do not rely solely on visual layout.
- Resizable, responsive layouts that work on mobile, tablet and desktop without horizontal scrolling at standard zoom.
What is working well
- The site reflows to fit a mobile viewport, and navigation, footer links and forms are usable on small screens.
- Pages use a single main landmark and a clear heading hierarchy.
- Interactive elements such as the mobile menu and cookie preference toggles are keyboard-operable.
- The cookie banner stores your choice locally and can be reopened from the footer without needing JavaScript-enabled advertising trackers.
- Contact, booking and account forms use labelled fields and inline validation messages.
Known limitations and what we are doing about them
We are still working on some areas. We list them here so you know what to expect, and so we can be held to fixing them:
- Some course images and profile photographs are loaded from a related Simplified Support site and may not yet carry full alt text in every location. We are reviewing each one.
- Some embedded video or third-party content (for example content hosted on the EBSA-Simplified Support site) is outside our direct control; we link to it rather than embedding it, so its accessibility depends on the host page.
- We have not yet completed a full independent WCAG 2.2 AA audit across every page. An internal review is in progress; an independent audit is planned.
- Live captioning or transcripts for any future live sessions will be provided where reasonably possible — please request this when booking so we can arrange it in advance.
If you find something not listed here that blocks you from using the site, please tell us using the contact details below so we can prioritise it.
Requesting an alternative format
We want everyone to be able to use our training. If any part of this site — or any course, booking form, certificate, receipt or policy document — is not accessible to you, you can request it in an alternative format. Reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010 are something we take seriously.
Examples of what we can provide on request include:
- A larger-print or high-contrast version of a page or document.
- A plain-text or Word version of a policy or course outline.
- A captioned transcript of a video module, or a written summary of audio content.
- A read-aloud or screen-reader-friendly version of a booking confirmation or receipt.
- Help completing a booking or account form over the phone or by email.
To request an alternative format, contact Jessica by email at Jessica@SimplifiedSupport.co.uk or call 0330 043 0263. Please tell us which page or document you need, the format that would work for you, and by when you need it. We will acknowledge your request within two working days and aim to provide the alternative format within five working days wherever possible.
You can also use our contact form and mention "accessibility request" in the subject so it reaches the right person quickly.
Reporting an accessibility problem
If you find an accessibility problem on this site — a missing alt text, a form you cannot complete by keyboard, a colour combination you cannot read, or anything else — please let us know. We treat accessibility reports as a priority and will investigate and fix verified issues as quickly as we can.
Email Jessica@SimplifiedSupport.co.uk with the word "accessibility" in the subject, and include:
- The page address (URL) where you had the problem.
- What you were trying to do.
- What happened instead, and any error message you saw.
- The device, browser and any assistive technology you were using, if you know.
We will reply to acknowledge your report within two working days and, where a fix is needed, will aim to put it right within ten working days for straightforward issues.
Enforcement and where to complain
We want to put things right directly wherever we can. If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility issue, you have the right to take it further.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) enforces the Equality Act 2010 in Great Britain. You can find guidance on making a complaint at equalityhumanrights.com. For website-specific accessibility, the Government Digital Service provides advice at gov.uk accessibility statement guidance.
If you believe we have not handled your personal data in line with UK GDPR, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. See our Privacy Notice for details.
How we test accessibility
We combine internal review with the built-in accessibility checks in our development tools. We test pages with keyboard-only navigation, check colour contrast, and review the structure with screen-reader-friendly markup in mind. We are working towards a full independent audit and will update this statement with the results.
We also welcome feedback from real users — your reports are the most useful test we have, because they tell us about the combinations of device, browser and assistive technology that matter to you.
